I hope you enjoy your new career, and can come back to art as a passion. But PLEASE don't view your change in job as a 'failure' at being an artist. Our lives are an ongoing train, sometimes you change tracks. That doesn't mean the previous track was a failure, it just means you have a new direction.

It would allow me to hold a canadian job (i live in canada and am immigrating). I have a spot at a piercing studio lined up, but i cant act on it until i have the permit.

As someone who has suffered from burnout I also know how painful it is to feel like a failure but I applaud your bravery. I hope you can enjoy illustration in the future at some point even if solely as a personal pursuit with no public presence, but regardless of the future I thank you for your contributions in the past.
